In this third Sunday of Advent, we address the love of God. The manger and the cross represent the active love of God. It’s a steadfast love, that is independent of circumstances, and is unwavering. Christ’s love was manifested in deeds, as well as in words. To love like Christ, it takes a partnership with God.
