Matthew 5:17-30
As Jesus continues His sermon on the mount, He makes it clear that He did not come to abolish the laws that God had previously laid down, but that they continue to have their purpose of revealing man’s sinful nature. We all fall short. His purpose in coming was to be the one who could perfectly fulfill the Law, and eventually reunite us with God the Father.
